Reversible perception / Perception réversible
This project is a collection of short stories by Edgar Allan Poe, presented in both English and French. I chose the theme of duality to emphasize this aspect of Edgar Allan Poe's writing.
To further highlight duality in the publication, the French portion is written in one direction, while the English is written in the opposite direction. The folio is also inverted. The central part, containing the author's biography, juxtaposes the two reading directions on each double page.
A new title has been added to the edition, "Perception réversible," or "Reversible perception" in English, to once again underscore the project's concept of duality.
The edition is also punctuated with a series of monotypes that I created, offering a glimpse into the blend of brutality, strangeness, and poetry found in Edgar Allan Poe's writing. I played with superpositions and transparency in order to add depth to my monotypes.
